Care Quality Commission (CQC)

CQC are independent regulators of health and social care in England.  They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and they encourage care services to improve.  They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and they publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

From 1st April 2013 all providers of NHS services must be registered with the Care Quality Commission.   The surgery registered in October 2012.  The registered manager with CQC is Mrs Tracy Garbutt, the Practice Manager.  Clinical lead for all regulated activities is Dr Peter Heywood.

The Linthorpe Surgery received its first visit from the Care Quality Commission on 22nd September 2015.  We are pleased to report that we were rated as 'GOOD'
