We have had a National update regarding the process for exemption certificates.
Process as follows:
- Patient calls 119
- 119 send electronic form to GP, Specialist or Midwife
- Clinician then completes process if exemption criteria met
- This decision is then entered onto the summary care record
- Patient will get a letter from NHSE : not from their GP practice
Exemptions:
- Severe reaction to vaccine (needs to see immunology team)
- Myocarditis (needs cardiology opinion)
- Thrombosis post vaccine & ITP
- Transverse myelitis / Guillan Barre
- End of life
- Very severe autism / Learning difficulty
